Description
There are a number of Youtube videos on how to visualize 3D holograms using a smart phone or a tablet and a pyramid made from 4 pieces of plastic cut to a certain size and gluing together. I decided to 3D print a frame to facilitate this. Due to the angles there will be some blobs along some areas of the structure but easily shaved off with a scalpel.
You can use any transparent plastic and the videos in some instances use old CD cases. You can use the transparent plastic from boxes of sweets. I used the plastic from the box holding my Surface Pro keyboard.
I have included a power point slide and a .jpg that can be printed as a template to cut plastic.
Just seach Youtube for various impressive 3D hologram videos. There are also videos on how to make your own 3D hologram videos.
I have not tried it yet but if you are adventurous you could use the same frame (or print a bigger frame) and use larger pieces of plastic and place on a computer monitor laid flat or a TV to make a mega 3D hologram.
EDIT: I have added a cover that could be used on the pyramid to prevent the plastic falling out. This makes it easy to transport frame intact.
