Description
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to assemble these 12 pieces into a single cube shape.
Accomplishing this mission is fiendishly difficult. There are several reasons for this:
There are 2 totally different versions of this puzzle: one with 13 pieces, and one with 12 pieces. The shapes of the pieces are different for each version, and they cannot be interchanged. This is the one with 12 pieces.
There are various names for this puzzle: Crazy Cube, Tetris Cube, Bedlam Cube. Online searches for a video showing the solution usually turn up a solution for the 13 piece puzzle. Those videos are of no help with this version. It took me several days to find a video showing the solution for the 12 piece version.
There are millions (zillions?) of ways to arrange the pieces into lots of different shapes, but only about 3000 ways to make a cube. 3000 seems like a large number, but it is a very small fraction of the millions (zillions?) of possible arrangements. That's why the cube solution is so difficult to find.
Before watching the solution video given below I strongly suggest you try several times to make one of the 3000 cube shapes. You'll probably think you are getting close when you end up with a cube that has one hole in a side and one cube sticking up. This is incorrect - you are no closer to a solution than your first attempt.
Good luck!
