It's intended for a folding table that uses 2020 aluminum extrusions as the legs, and the locking pin locks the leg in either the open or closed position. The update focused on stiffening the hinge by adding an addition mount point to the table, as well as additional features to the locking pin. The locking pin now engages the base directly on both sides of the leg, and an optional 'retainer' on the open side of the pin to further stiffen it when upright. Full details on this build and its predecessor(s) I designed it for, and printed mine from PETG, but going with a stiffer material like PLA should only be improvements in end results.
