Description
My last mousetrap was just too complicated. And it didn’t lock shut. I fixed both of those deficiencies in this design. Assembly is easier, there’s fewer parts, but as before it should work with a wider variety of binder clips. Another fun feature is that it can be ‘propped’ in the open position, which makes setting easier. I haven’t tested on mice, but it snaps shut nicely and could also be used for practical jokes. In terms of energy delivery, it is not as strong as some of the other traps I’ve designed and most likely will not even bruise fingers. I have sprung it on mine several times and they are all perfectly fine.
This design requires 61g of filament, a little extra filament for axles, and one extra-large binder clip, preferably 2 3/8” wide, although a 2” one should still work fine.
