Description
A Nautilus Gear mechanism is a mechanism that utilizes gears shaped like a Fibonacci spiral, also known as Nautilus Gears. It's important to note that Nautilus Gears are a relatively new technology and are not yet widely adopted. As technology advances, we may witness Nautilus Gears being utilized in an even broader range of applications.
Here are some of the benefits of using Nautilus Gear mechanisms:
reciprocating pumps, where a change in pressure force is required.
mechanisms needing a variable speed of movement according to some law.
mechanisms needing variable torque according to some law.
modeling of complex kinematic movements
just for fun...
Despite their advantages, Nautilus Gears also have some drawbacks:
difficult to model
difficult to calculate
limited use
expensive due to low distribution
difficult to manufacture from more stable materials due to their complex geometry
The model is correctly drawn and with involute teeth. It does not need supports when printing. To print it, we need to print the failed plot once and the Nautilus gear file twice.
