Features

  • One Handed Operation
  • Easy Access Safety Cutter
  • Magnetic
  • Cheap Blade Replacements
  • Anti Slide Finger Guard
  • Is A Great Gift

There's a notch in the butt end which can be used to access the blade while it's closed to cut line, boxes, tape, wrappers and other thin things.

It's assembled with a standard 18mm snap off blade. The blade in the pictures is a HEIKIO. These blades are ideal since they have a rust protective coating. Please be careful while assembling and don't cut yourself.

BOM
In addition to the 3D printed parts, you'll need the following materials:

  • 18mm snap off blade
  • 10mm M3 Button Head Hex Cap bolt
  • M3 nut (locking optional)
  • optional 2X 6mm diameter magnets

Assembly Instructions

  1. Print one external and one internal part.
  2. Slide the snap-off blade into the socket in the internal part until the hole in the blade lines up with the axle hole in the internal part. Be careful! I wrap some tape around the blade and handle it with pliers by the taped area.
  3. Slide the internal part into the external part, blade first, until it snaps into place in a closed position.
  4. Screw the M3 bolt into the side of the external part with the round outline, before it gets through, press the hex nut into the hex shaped side of the axle.
  5. Tighten the M3 bolt until it squeezes the nut and then loosen it one and a half turns.
  6. Check that you can open the knife one handed. If not, loosen the bolt. If the action is too loose, tighten the bolt.
  7. Place the magnet on a hard, flat surface.
  8. Place the assembled parts over the magnet and push them down onto the magnet, hard. It should pop in to the slot and not come out.
  9. Repeat steps 7 & 8 for the other magnet

Please be careful.
