Experiment 626 was originally created to wreak havoc across the galaxy, characterized by its quick temper and playful demeanor.
After being trapped on an asteroid, Stitch manages to escape and goes to the islands of Hawaii. He ends up being adopted by the little girl Lilo, who treats him like a puppy and names him "Stitch".
Stitch gradually begins to adjust to his new life, learn the meaning of family and see Lilo as a sister.
