Description

Panavia Tornado MRCA

Example of joint project between nations , it has been developed and built by Italy, the United Kingdom, and West Germany. The official name of this aircraft is Panavia PA-200 Tornado and it is a multi role combat aircraft (MRCA); this aircraft is able to fly at very low level following the ground contour , perform missions of reconnaissance, defenses suppression, deep strike, naval strike and air defence.
The name Tornado was chosen because this term has the same meaning and is written in the same way in English, German and Italian.
Main versions covered by the models are the standard fighter bomber IDS ( interdiction and strike ) and the ADV interceptor (air defence variant); there is another variant called ECR (electronic combat/reconnaissance) that is similar to the IDS but with different equipments.
The only other user is the Royal Saudi Air Force that have some IDS and ADV while the UK has retired the most (if not all) of his Tornados.
The Tornado fought in the Gulf War, Kosovo, Bosnia, Irak and Libyan civil war.
I was young when I saw the first Tornado flying over my house (I live a few kilometers from an air base in northern Italy) ; this aircrafts have a special place in my memories.

Models uploaded are the ADV and IDS variants, both represented with wings at minimum and maximum angle.

Models 1:100 scale printed at 1:285 with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.12 mm layers.

Printed in 2 halves as shown in the image and then glued.
