Wonky Drawers

Looks like my design of a set of drawers went a bit 'wonky'...

In a world where most things are designed to be symmetrical and follow conventional lines it's sometimes fun to break away with something truly unique and completely different.... but that still provides a practical / functional solution.

'Wonky Drawers' do just that...

Wonky Drawers look very cool... most people's immediate reaction is "I want one of those" . so they will make a great gift.

Apart from looking 'different' they are still a practical set of drawers for small things. Each of the five drawers are different sizes and shapes however they all have a depth of 44mm (inside front to back). They provide a reasonable amount of storage space so can be used for small parts, toys, jewellery hobby/craft things and much more... plus they are fun and decorative so can easily become a conversation starter.

'Wonky Drawers' are easy to print but do take time due to the size. At standard scale the frame measures approx. 76mm (W) x 165mm (H) x 50mm (D). The back of the frame has been left open to reduce print time and filament consumption however this also means the drawers can be pushed out from behind if necessary. There are also designed in drawer stops across the rear top edge of edge drawer slot so the drawers won't push through and out the back.

Each of the drawers has a small handle that has been designed to print in PLA without support on machines with a filament fan (i.e. The angle should be printable fro most machines). The handles have a recess/hollow inside and are wide enough to make them easily hooked by a finger nail and the drawers should slide open with minimal effort as the drawer to frame clearances clearances have been set to make sure they should slide well regardless of the type of machine they are printed on (...as all machines / slicing apps print differently)

Because 'Wonky Drawers' are a bit quirky have fun with colors if you have a range of filament available... but if not they still look great with the frame one colour and drawers all in a second color.
