Description
We bought our kids a board game after visiting WDW because we thought they would have fun. All the pieces are of high quality except one. The Mark VI monorails. You can see from my photos that they are pretty weak and did not last very long. So as a maker I came up with a much better replacement. These new Mark VI monorails fit perfectly on the game. Even if you do not own this game, they are fun to print. Each monorail is about the size of an “N” scale engine.
They are easy to print, consisting of only four parts, and you can print them with or without an AMS unit. If you want the iconic strip that designates each, you will need the AMS for that or do a manual filament change on the bottom part.
The upper chassis requires supports. I would recommend hybrid tree supports and only for critical areas if you find them difficult to remove without damaging the upper chassis.
Assembly consists of simply press fitting the window insert into the upper portion of the monorail. There is a filler block which spreads that insert against the walls. You just need to glue this filler block into the upper half to hold everything in place. Once this is one, just glue the lower half to the upper. I have included photos showing the glue points.
I hope you enjoy printing these.
