Description

After using the included bambu scraper with razor blade, I quickly realized that using a metal blade on the print bed is not a wise idea since you can easily scratch or damage it.  Although there are already many scapers out there, I wanted something small and yet easy to grip that would last a long time.  This is my solution, with a funny little alien head.  Initially it was just a sphere on top of a cone and nothing else (you can see a comparison view in the photos after 1 year of not-gentle usage printed in white vs the brand new version in green).  I was thinking I should publish this and while I was at it, added some funny alien eyes to the top and stretched the sphere into an alien head shape to give it some personality.

You can see in the photo that I used a plain black sharpie to color in the eyes.  If you wanted to, you could paint them black in the slicer and print it that way, but I didn't feel it was worth expending the filament to do that.  Maybe if this model takes off I will try it.  Basically I'm posting this because of the success of my cable guide model.  It's really surprised me how many folks have downloaded and used that very simple model.  This is along those same lines--a very simple design that provides a useful and robust function for your printing.

I've printed this on the A1 with 0.4 nozzle and the high-temp bed for a smooth bottom, but my old one was on the default textured print bed.  Both will work just fine.  Check the setting in your slicer for whatever you are using.

TIPS:

I'll also mention, (since I myself didn't realize this at first when I started using my A1), when you want to remove almost any print, remove the bed and flex it on the X dimension then again on the Y dimension just by gently bending it with your hands.  This will allow most prints to pop off.  Be careful since sometimes they will slide right off, crashing to the floor. If it still isn't coming loose, well then that's when you break out this little alien and go to work, pressing on the edges of your print and trying to wedge the UFO section underneath the bottom, and pry it loose.

Also use rubber gloves while handling your print bed since oils from your hand will eventually cause non-sticking print failures!  Generally speaking, I try to never ever touch my print beds.  Ever.
