Pixel Bow for Kids - Minecraft Bow and Arrow Set

Bring Minecraft to life with this functional bow and arrow set! This model combines the pixelated charm of Minecraft with real-world fun. Inspired by a toy from a Minecraft magazine, this design takes things to the next level, offering a printable, customizable, and fully functional bow and arrow.

Printing and Assembly Tips

• Material Recommendations:
  • PLA works well for the entire model, but for the arrow, consider PETG or PETG CF for better durability.
  • PLA arrows may wear down faster due to repeated impacts.
• Additional Hardware Needed:

  • A 3mm elastic band or elastic cord is required to provide the tension needed to shoot the arrow.

     

Assembly Instructions

• Each bow piece features centering pins for precise alignment during assembly.
• Use glue to secure the parts together, as snapping them together may not hold due to varying print tolerances.
• The arrow and bow components are easy to assemble with no additional fasteners required.

Arrow Assembly:

1. Apply a small amount of super glue to the centering peg on one half of the arrow tip.
2. Place the arrow shaft into the glued half of the arrow tip.
3. Apply super glue to the centering pegs of the second half of the arrow tip, then align and attach it to the arrow shaft.

4. Firmly press the two halves together and hold them in place until the glue sets completely.

    

Bow Assembly:

1. Thread the 3mm elastic band through the designated slots on the bottom half of the bow and tie it securely.
2. Insert the arrow guide wheels into the slots on the bottom half of the bow.
3. Place the arrow guide tips into their designated slots on the bottom half. Ensure they are angled inward so only the arrow can fit between them.
4. Apply super glue to the centering pegs of the top half of the bow. Be careful around the arrow guide wheels; avoid applying glue near them to ensure they function properly.

5. Align the top and bottom halves of the bow and press them firmly together. Hold until the glue has dried completely.

Decor Application:

The decor pieces are straightforward to attach: simply align and stick them onto the bow and arrow in the desired positions.

 

Why I Made This

One of my son’s favorite toys came from a Minecraft magazine, and it got me thinking—how could I take that concept and make it even better? This bow and arrow design is the result: functional, customizable, and designed with Minecraft fans in mind.
