Echo Dot Power Holder

ECHO DOT POWER HOLDER

If you have one or more Amazon Echo Dot Gen 3 in your living space, this is a must have!  This is especially true if you have yours on a counter top with the messy power cord all over the place.  This is self-contained, meaning the power brick, cord, and Echo Dot are all contained in this holder!  No more trying to wind up the cord to have it blow up all over the place.  Your Echo Dot deserves better. You deserve better!

INSTALLATION:

1. View all of the photos prior to installation of your Echo Dot. Pay careful attention to the power cord routing.
2. Install the power brick into the holder and feed the power cable through the opening below the power brick.
3. Route the power cord counterclockwise starting at the largest outer ring ensuring the cord is seated to the bottom of the channel.
4. Continue routing the power cord moving counterclockwise ending at the vertical opening at the top with about 3-4 inches of cord left. NOTE: Overall cord length appears to vary.  I have several and one version has a longer cord. So, your routing may vary.  Keep in mind the cord slots are deep enough, by design, so you can route the cord twice in the same slot.  The idea is the same however to end with 3-4 inches of cord remaining.  See photos for illustrations of this.
5. Remove the power brick from the holder.
6. Insert the Echo Dot in the holder with the power socket at the top in an orientation that will allow you to plug in the power cord jack.
7. Insert the power brick into the holder.
8. Plug into a wall socket.

FAQ:

1. Does this affect the speaker?  The speaker in the Echo Dot is located on top of the Echo Dot.  In addition, there are two speaker ports on the sides opposite the power plug.  For visual preference purposes, I provide two versions.  One is an enclosed version which has no cutouts offering visually clean side surfaces.  A second version has openings where the Echo Dot speaker ports are located.  Both provide good audio, but some prefer the tone the version with speaker port openings provides. 
2. Does this affect the Echo Dot's ability to hear me when speaking to it?  No.  In fact, it may even help it's ability to hear now that it's facing outward rather than up.
3. Does this cause overheating?  No.  In my testing there is no additional heat by having the Echo Dot in this holder
4. Is it easily removed if needed?  Yes.  Very easy to install and remove as needed.
5. Can it be inverted?  Yes.  It can be plugged in an inverted position, however, it is less stable.
