The latest expansion in my Pokémon Deck Boxes, the Love Ball.

Whether it's expressing your love for the hobby or sharing that love with a partner, this is the perfect Deck Box for you.

Features: For more detailed information, you can find the original Poké Ball here.

  • 60+ Double Sleeved Cards
    • This box is intended, and has been tested, for use with 60 double-sleeved cards. The exact sleeves I use are Dragon Shield's Sealable Inner Sleeves, inside Ultra Pro Penny Sleeves.
  • Secure Lid with Functioning Button!
    • The tolerances on the top assembly have been tweaked several times to ensure a tight fit, that will not come off accidentally, but also can be easily opened when wanted.
    • The Button and box function just as you would expect and like an actual Poké Ball! Simply push the button in and tilt the lid open or closed.
  • No Additional Parts Needed!
    • It was crucial that this design required no parts other than what you can print. There is no need for glue, magnets, or anything else and this box can be assembled right off your print bed.

Printing Tips:

  • There are two different print profiles, one for users with an AMS and one for users without
    • The AMS profile is setup to print by object for minimum waste. The position of the pieces and the print sequence was meticulously done to ensure all parts could fit on one plate and should not be changed
    • These print profiles are highly recommended and have all the necessary settings changed
  • Classic wall generator will give you the best finish on the thin parts of the print. Arachne will leave visible bumps on the outer surface.
  • It is highly recommended to use 100% when printing the Latch. This will give it the most strength and prevent breakage during use
    • If not using the included print profiles, you can set this change to the Latch only by going to the Objects tab in Bambu Studio. There you can find the Latch object and select it and change the infill percentage for that piece to 100% while keeping your default infill percentage for the rest of the pieces

Assembly Overview: Video guide

  1. Print one each of the eight pieces - Top, Top - Heart, Top - Heart Outline, Middle, Latch, Button, Button - Outer Ring, and Bottom
    1. It is highly recommended to use the included print profile or make the changes outlined above
    2. Each part is designed to press fit into place, but glue can be used for long term piece of mind if needed
  2. Slide the Latch into the corresponding slot in the Middle piece
    1. This is intended to be a tight fit to keep the Latch as stable as possible
  3. Place the inner Button piece in the corresponding hole in the Middle piece
  4. Place the Button - Outer Ring over top of the inner Button piece and push in to snap it in place
    1. The inner Button piece is free moving and functional, while being held in place by the outer ring
  5. Align the smaller Heart Outline piece to the corresponding hole in the Heart and push into place
    1. The three heart pieces each have a raised portion on the “back” that all align in place.
  6. Align the partially assembled Heart with the outer portion of the Heart Outline and push into place
  7. Align the assembled Heart with the corresponding cutout in the Top piece and push into place
  8. Place the Top piece on top of the Middle piece that has been fully assembled and simply squeeze down
    1. This is intended to be a tight fit so that these two pieces remain together during use
  9. Assembly is done

How to Operate:

  1. Line up the notch on the back of the top assembly with the notch on the back of the Bottom piece
    1. This is best done at a 45 degree angle and can be thought of as a hinge mechanism that helps with opening and closing
  2. While pressing the inner Button, click the top assembly down into place
  3. Repeat the above steps in reverse to open
    1. Remembering the notched back acts as a hinge, press the inner Button and then rotate the top backwards to open, like a Poké Ball
