Description
Wooden (Textured) Wardrobe
I know these aren’t exactly expensive to buy, but I wanted to test out wood textures in Blender. It worked out well, so I thought I’d share it in case someone else finds it useful.
The minimum configuration consists of a Left and Right part with 4 hooks. If you need it longer, print 2 hooks per middle part. Each part (Left, Right, and Middle) includes a holder for a screw.
I haven’t stress-tested it extensively, but I managed to support 6kg with one hook when printed as per my file. For added durability, I recommend using a stronger filament—Standard PLA worked fine for the 6kg test, but PLA Matte broke quickly.
The wood texture covers the entire model (the visible parts), so my print configurations are slightly adjusted on the Z-axis to ensure the bottom part remains flat. Alternatively, you can print the model in an upright position to maintain the texture all around, but be cautious as this reduces the stability of the connectors.
To enhance the wooden look, you can sand the pieces with 180-grit sandpaper. Avoid over-sanding, as a smoother surface won’t absorb stain effectively. Stain the parts with wood stain and finish with a clear enamel spray for sealing. (The picture was taken without, just the pure print)
That’s all for now—have fun!
