Garden Snail High Resolution Model

Spring is just around the corner! This model is a perfect project to get ready for warmer weather, adding charm to your outdoor spaces or preparing handmade gifts.

 

UPDATE: I created a smaller version of the model and uploaded it as a print profile. Scaling down the larger version isn't as straightforward since the walls would become too thin. This smaller version maintains the wall thickness, allowing you to test the model before committing to the larger version.

 

This is one of my favorite models! While it’s not my original creation, I made some modifications to improve it. The original was a solid piece, I modeled the eye stalks thicker to make them easier to print and I hollowed it out and added a hole at the bottom. This makes it perfect for placing in your garden or filling with gypsum or sand to keep it from blowing away in the wind. With a bit of paint, it turns into a stunning piece you'll be proud to display or a great personal gift.

 

There are support blockers used in the profile to keep the model hollow, also if you scale it down expect some holes - be careful if you change around things!

The original model is really old and I found it on a old memory stick, it no longer seems to be available online—or at least, I haven’t been able to find it (only low resolution versions of it). If anyone knows where it can be found, let me know, and I’ll add a link here!
