Description
My second attempt at designing a detailed HueForge print for my A1 Mini without AMS.
Unfortunately, this didn't turn out quite as well as hoped, but still looks quite good in the right light (indirect, diffuse).
My best guess is that the Bambu grey filament had a lower transmission distance than expected.
If you have better luck with a different filament, let me know.
Adding some blue would definately help it look like the original image, but I don't currently have any blue fimanet to hand.
I will probably try and refine this design. If I get a good result, I will update the 3d model and print profile.
The original image is taken from promotional material for the film Alien: Romulus (2024).
Below is the information from HueForge. The print profile has pauses for the colour swaps, but if you have an AMS, these can be replaced with colour changes.
Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.04mm with a base layer of 0.16mm
The Model is 150x87.92mm in size
You may print at higher layer heights below the Min Depth of 0.48mm
The Max Depth is 2.2mm and the Actual Depth is 1.7mm
Filaments Used:
PLA BambuLab Basic Black Transmission Distance: 0.6
PLA BambuLab Basic Gray Transmission Distance: 2
PLA BambuLab Basic Jade White Transmission Distance: 5
This print uses 3 unique filaments
Swap Instructions:
Start with Black
At layer #13 (0.64mm) swap to Gray
At layer #20 (0.92mm) swap to Jade White for the rest.
