Drill Paint Mixer - Durable, tested, refined!

February 4, 2025
Description
After trying some other paint mixers I've concluded that they often:
- don't mix well.
- breaks because of wrong layer alignment.
- takes too long to print for what it is.
Therefore I present my version of a 3D-printable drill-mounted paint mixer! Designed for durability and optimal performance, it ensures throughout mixing by reaching and scraping the bottom sediment and the sides of the can. Its unique micro-grooves create a micro-blending effect by creating turbulence for perfect mixing (in theory).
Designed with 3D-printing in mind I decided on a flat print orientation which makes it more robust than many other versions but still quick to print. Something that is very important with these problem-solving models. I don't want my paint to dry while I print a paint mixer (joking).
This tool is the perfect solution for DIYers or professionals looking for an efficient, smarter way to mix paint—straight from your 3D printer to your next project! A must-have tool in your garage or toolbox.
I would like to point out, however, that a flat model like this will not perform as well as a more complex, well-thought-out version. But it is many times more durable and still gets the job done.
Available in 3 versions
Large - 287mm long. 9,5m shaft.
Standard - 240mm long. 8mm shaft.
Short - 206mm long. 8mm shaft. A1 Mini Compatible
If you choose to print or create your own print profile, please keep in mind to max out on walls to make it sturdy.
Below is a video of the standard version. As you can see it sets the whole 2,5L can in motion, and the drill even has some power to spare. For 5-10 litres I suggest the large version.
