Description
So, I needed a lower profile dry box and, well, I didn't want to use a hygrometer that required batteries, but I had no way to quickly see what the humidity was in my chosen dry box.
So, I made some help.
A simple holder for attaching an inexpensive, battery-free hygrometer to an Ezy Storage 32L 33.8qt container.
I went down this path for the following reasons:
While these can be sourced from other places, I got these from here:
Let's get started with some simple steps!
1. Print the guide and holder
2. Grab a drill and 1/8" drill bit
3. If you'd like, orient the top of the container so that brand's name is facing you and then flip the container over
4. Place the guide on the far right; it should fit neatly into the container's grid
5. Hold the guide securely in place and push it down to make certain the fit is good; since tolerances of the container vary, this step is import to ensure a good fit
6. Drill through the guide holes and sides of the container's grids; be sure to keep the drill bit as parallel to the container as possible to ensure a good fit
7. Make certain the drilled holes are good and have no extraneous material around them; this step is very import to ensure a good fit
8. Press the hygrometer into the holder; the end result should have the hygrometer face down and one side of the holder is angled specifically to match the side of the container's grid
9. It's easiest if you insert the part of the holder with the non-mirrored pin first into the drilled hole
10. Then insert one of the mirrored pins into the next drilled hole
11. Finally, insert the last mirrored pin into the last drilled hole and it should snap into place if all is well
12. That's it! Enjoy your new sturdy hygrometer holder and never change a battery again!
