I've had some comments mentioning loose fit issues between the top and bottom pieces for some users. I have added an updated bottom piece with a tighter fit in the .stl section. You can either print that one out, or put a piece of electrical tape on the male end of the bottom piece of the call!

 

Hey Guys, after countless hours and about a dozen or two prototypes, I have finally designed a short reed goose call that works pretty well! I will warn you now that goose calls can be a little tricky to assemble correctly, but it isn't too bad, so give it a try! I have attached assembly instructions for the best way that I've found to assemble the call so that it works correctly.

 

Everything but the reed can be printed at .2mm using PLA with 30% infill. I recommend printing the reeds using PLA at .1mm because they are so thin. I have attached a print profile containing all of the main parts on one plate, but will add another print profile for the reed specifically. The print profile for the reeds contains 1 reed with 2 layers which should measure around .4mm, and another reed 3 layers thick which should measure around .5mm. The .4mm reed is easier to moan, but doesn't break as well as the .5mm reed when trying to honk and cluck. I think the .5mm reed is the better reed all around, so I would suggest using the thicker .5mm reed.

 

Note: ONLY USE 1 REED AT A TIME!!!

 

This may not be the best sounding call on the market lol, but I am very happy that I was able to design something that sounds like a goose. Using a reel goose call reed and guts in this design would greatly improve the realism of the call.
