Princess Mermaid – 3D Printed Figure

I designed Princess Mermaid because my daughter wanted a mermaid princess birthday theme, and I quickly realized that finding decorations that were both a princess and a mermaid was impossible. I wanted something unique that could serve both as a centerpiece for the party and as a memorable party favor for the the little girls who are going to be her guests. That’s how this design came to life—a Princess Mermaid.

Design & Aesthetic

Princess Mermaid is designed with elegance and playfulness in mind. Her form is both regal and adorable, featuring a flowing, wavy hairstyle with soft curls that frame her face. A dainty crown sits atop her head, solidifying her royal status beneath the sea. Her upper body features a seashell-inspired bodice, with layered, fin-like accents at her waist, giving her an ethereal and oceanic feel.

Her long, curved tail adds a dynamic sense of movement, as if she is gliding through the water. The tail fin is segmented, mimicking the natural look of marine creatures while adding to the fantasy charm. Every detail, from her expressive face to the flow of her hair, is designed to make her both visually striking and full of personality. This design sits perfectly on the ground, meaning that it can be used to play without falling over constantly.

Material & Print Quality

Princess Mermaid can be printed in a variety of filaments, making her immediately eye-catching and perfect for a party setting. For my daughters party I printed 4 in a light pink, 4 in a magenta, 4 red, and 1 blue. I then made a scaled up Princess Mermaid and printed that one for my daughter. 

Support Removal & Post-Processing

Supports are necessary during printing. These supports can be easily removed using a clipper and plier. I believe it can be done with a plier alone, but I used both. The distance between the support trees and the design ensures that the supports do not leave significant marks that would stick out and poke kids, and with these two tools, the removal process is simple and hassle-free.
