Simple clean/dirty indicator for dishwashers, laundry, or anywhere else something can be dirty or clean. Finished print is approx 91x50mm. The design can be printed with or without AMS (plates included for both), and it needs two contrasting colours (like black & white).
Assembles in less than a minute without glue or tools. Instructions:
- Print all parts, and remove the supports from the top and slider.
- Place the base on a surface, the print-bed face being the bottom. The rounded side is the right, the short flat edge the left.
- Press the lever's central hole firmly onto the circular point of the base, lever tip facing upwards you. This fit is tight to increase friction in use, but you can file inside if you want a freer motion.
- Rotate the lever to the top of its range of motion (away from you).
- Take the slider and, print-bed face towards you, drop the geared section into the bottom (closest to you) end of the channel in the base. The teeth should engage with the lever, with all teeth inside the base (none overlapping). Adjust by picking up and re-placing as needed.
- Rotate the lever to its opposite extreme. Check the slider's gear has engaged correctly, and that it moves to the other end of its channel.
- Rotate the lever to roughly central. This helps with the final part fit.
- Pick up the top, writing facing towards you, and reading in the correct direction.
- Slide the top around the base from left to right, making sure the slider remains in position.
- When the top is nearly aligned with the base, it will need a bit of force. The top will click into position.
- Move the lever around, ensuring the indicator works as expected.
