Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. I've reorganized the files section and included all the updated models. The 3.1 update is all about retention clips and new variations for the universal railed topper that can accommodate barrels/frames from 17mm - 35mm in width.

Printing Tips:

1. Make sure you have a clean bed and nozzle. I typically use alcohol wipes between every 4-5 prints
2. Text should be face down on the print bed
3. The print profile has lots of parts on each bed, but try print one part at a time to test for tolerances.

 

Here are some of the design elements of version 3.0:

• Bases are as low as possible, so as to not interfere with reaching in or removal of your firearm.
• Attachment points for putting multiple bases together had to be strong, hence the butterflies. Having the bases touching along the entire length allows for the edge to apply leverage and make a stronger connection.
• Using the sled system allows for unlimited customization.
• Magazine storage comes with a 70 degree tilt to allow for easy removal, especially if you have a tight fit in your safe.
• The main tower supporting the handgun will not wobble. Tolerances are tight, but the sled can still be easily moved.
• Once you find the optimal spot for the tower, they can be locked in place so they will not move.
• Adjacent towers can be locked to each other using a bowtie, providing another point of contact for added strength.
• Everything is made to not wobble as you interact with it. I like things tight.
• The universal topper has options for various widths and the sled system on the tower allows for height adjustments of 4mm increments.

Depending on how you guys like the design, I will have more accessories in the pipeline for the base sleds.

 

Customize with logos:

I like putting logos on things which can be done in Bambu Studio. If you want a form fitting topper, let me know what you need and I can work on it.

 

You can right-click on a surface to “Add Part”. Select your preferred SVG file with image you want on the part.

 

 

Rotate and position the SVG on the face. You can scale the image using the slider in the settings next to the “Size” box. Also be sure to change the depth. It defaults to 10mm. My models have a 1mm raised logo.

 

 

When you change the Process viewer to Objects, the SVG shows as a separate item. You can change the color of the entire SVG here. It takes several clicks on the filament to get the dropdown choices.

You can fit 5 mags in the full size base or 4 mags in the A1-Mini compatible base.
