Camera Screw Mount for Mech Arm for Ring Lamp

I made this accessory for Mech Arm with universal ¼-20 UNC camera screw to fit wide variety of ring lights and small / lightweight devices that are camera mount compatible.

Version 3 available ! Simplified, optimized tolerances. Now the main part is printed whole and the thread is replaceable. Normally it is snug fit, but you can use a dab of glue. Tested with PETG for several months, despite the thread being loaded along the weakest Z-axis, no problems with braking. As always, please make sure your filament profile is perfectly dialed in, as print defects are NOT a fault of my model. 

Version 2 now available ! This version has shorter thread and optional adjustment nut. You can use the nut on the original long version and adjust the end lenght of the thread with it. 

The model needs to be printed split in half. This allows to create sort of composite using CA glue (superglue) to bond the two halves together and makes the screw part a bit more sturdy. Still keep in mind that the thread is plastic, so it is only suitable for light devices such as smaller ring lights.

After gluing the two parts together, let it harden and then carefuly “prime” the thread by screwing it in a device of your choice. 

The thread might be coarse at the beginning (also depending on your printer calibration) so make sure you don't cross thread and potentially break off the screw inside your device. 

I printed mine from PLA, did some stress test on a cheap ring light and it seems to be quite sturdy. However for something long lasting I advise using tougher material like ABS, ASA or at least PETG. For ABS and ASA, acetone or specialized glue is recommended to bond the parts.
