This is a remix of the Octo Compass by pawel.kwasniewicz. The remix differs from the original in that:
- It includes an AMS profile that avoids the need to print the logo separately and glue in place
- The AMS profile also makes the top of the compass needle flat
- It includes a non-AMS A1 Mini compatible profile
- It includes a holder and belt clip
- The compass face image is corrected so that East and West are on the correct sides!
- The pin the needle fits on is now flared at the top to hold the needle in place
- A .jpg image file and a .pdf for the required images is included below, sized correctly to fit the model
Not printed parts:
- M4x20 Bolt Socket Head Cap - 1 off, to join the base and lid
- M4 nut for the bolt, preferably a locknut (i.e. with nylon insert), although a regular nut worked fine for me
- Labels printed, (see documentation below), optionally laminated, and glued in place
The resulting model dimensions are 80x92x44 mm.
The needle is a tight fit over the top of the shaft, but is intended to spin freely once it is in place. You may need to sand the needle shaft, or clean the needle hole, to make it spin freely. Once I'd done that it came off a little too easily, so I superglued an M3 washer to the top of the shaft.
