Description
I wanted something that was kind of low-tech to print and something I could take apart easily for storage, so I made this. I also wanted something that I could use to keep my second hand free as a filament guide to make sure things wind easily. Also doubles as 2 external spool holders. Huzzah!
And it took me around 2 minutes to respool a thing lol. I ight have been slightly overzealous though XD
Â
EDIT (2/18/24): Included 2nd version with a different version of the ‘to side’ that should have less of the wobble issue the first one had (but I haven't personally tested it). From side, center bracer/spacer and screws are the same; Stand and center spool will need to get reprinted if you want to update it.
Â
Â
Will accept spools up to 100mm thick for the filament being UNWOUND
Will accept spools of varying width and inner hole sizes to put the filament ONTO (because I have lots of old spools that aren't Bambu Bois)
Takes under 1kg of filament to print. (and about 15 hrs between the 3 plates)
Requires no additional parts (unless you use a drill… in which case… you need a drill…)
Â
Includes a few options for pieces
--Manual spinner handle vs drill attachments
--Drill attachments have a bit where you can insert a bit (flat head or hex) and spin the spool that way, or one with a sticky-outy plastic hexegon you can attach the collette directly into
--Version of the threaded things that tighten onto the spools with grooves for grip and one without
--Optional piece you can print to low-key lock the plates together and keep the different spool holders farther apart.
