Description
Again, I don't really think this needs a description!  I was joking with a friend about all of the articulated items that are popping up and the next day his wife was using his brand new P1S to print an articulated item.  We both laughed.  She was excited about it and this idea popped into my head so I had to make it a reality. I designed the original Articulated Stanley cup but thought that it needed some character of some sort, so I settled on this smiley face. I feel it breaks up the long part of the cup and lightens the mood. This has been a work in progress since I created the original.
Â
Boost MeI appreciate all of you who boost me and support the work I have put into these. The lids are still able to be unscrewed so it can be used as storage for pills or other small items on your desk or wherever you might like.

The two on the right in the above picture are printed in place and two on the left are printed separate and glued in.

Information
Â
This is sliced at .12mm High Quality layer height to reduce layer lines and improve overall quality of the print. Â If you don't want it to take that long to print, you can reduce it to .2mm layer height but I have not printed it at that resolution. Â
I have included a version that has the smiling facial features cut out so you can either print them separately and glue them in or just leave them without. It looks good either way but I prefer with using the AMS. When gluing in, I used a toothpick to apply the glue to the recessed area and transferred one piece at a time so I could keep them in the proper position. I’ll be the first to admit that it is a bit tricky but for those of you that do this regularly, it may not be too much of a problem. I went through many iterations testing this before uploading for you to print. If you have any suggestions about how to make that better, please message me and let me know.
I've added tree supports and did quite a bit of testing to try to get them to come off as easily as possible while providing the best support for the edge of the lid and the toppers. Â What little bit of support was left, I was able to scrape off without much issue. Â The lid creates a pretty even closure with the cup and as you can see in the last picture, the toppers sit flush with the lid when proper supports are used to print it. Â You will need to put a small bit of super glue on the lid to hold the topper in place as I did not make it a tight fit.
I also uploaded a profile for using PETG as an interface layer and as you can tell on the purple cups, those lids are just about as straight as you can get. I also included the toppers on that profile so you can print those with it too and create some of the best looking cups possible. Â
I've used Arachne wall generator to help the logo on the topper look it's best
I moved the white lid to a separate plate to reduce filament changes
Â
I have uploaded a version with the silver ring painted around the top for the more authentic look but if you don’t have an AMS, you can easily remove the painting or just tell your software to use the same color for it as you have the cups. I have also left two versions of the lid topper in the print profiles, as I wasn't sure if everyone would like the one with the logo on it.  Please delete the one you don't want if you don't want to print both. Â
Â
If there is something you think needs attention, let me know and I will see what I can do. Â I am not the best at this but I'm trying.
