Modular Bobble Headband

My daughter wanted a bobble headband for valentines day.  I know she will ask for another one for easter, her birthday, christmas, and every other holiday in the calendar.  So instead of making her a new one each time, I made one that is fully modular.  Simply thread the “springs” onto the headband and thread the charms on the other end of the spring!  Easy customization for any occasion!  Need a different charm?  no problem!  Need a different colour for the springs?  No problem!  Print only the changes you need when you need them!

 

The springs print “closed”.  Be sure to print the springs WITHOUT any support.  To open, just pull the threaded ends apart. Alternatively, fasten the uncoiled spring to the headband and charm and pull to uncoil.

 

Hearts are included in the profile, and I will likely add more in the future for other occasions.  Make sure that you thread the hearts on straight.  It can be a bit tricky because the threads are cut for the heart shape.  If you would like to create your own charms, and you are comfortable with modelling, the threads are 15mm M15x1.5, right hand threads.  Depth is 10mm.
