Description
Designed for the local FD, this hose wrench has gone through a couple iterations. This design solves a few problems with commercially available options (especially cost), giving firefighters a pair or wrenches that are easy to keep handy in bunker gear pockets. So far proven quite effective and durable if printed with the appropriate materials.
V1 - Just a simple hose wrench, with holes for 6x2mm magnets to keep them together in the pocket. It has FIRE RESCUE text for multi-colour prints if desired.
V2 - Added an O2 wrench and lanyard hole (currently using 7/64" dyneema lanyards)
Work in progress: V3 - Added glass breaker and seat belt/strap cutter. The seat belt cutter is a #11 hobby knife blade - pause print at specific layer and insert the blade into the print. The window breaker uses tungsten carbide scribe tips. Currently experimenting with location of the cutter; if you try this model, please let me know which one works for you.
Recommend printing in ASA, PETG, or Nylon; 100% infill, annealing may be beneficial if done properly. I've tested these to work in PETG and ASA, and they work well in training so far. Further testing to come to determine how well they hold up long term. Also planning to test prints in PA6-GF.
