Description

A little wind turbine you can take apart and carry with you.

Features:

  • Spinning rotor
  • Blade pitch adjustable
  • dismountable
  • carry box with integrated stand
  • extra stand

If you got problems trying to print the threaded tower, use the magnetic connecting tower instead. (You will need 10 magnets in total.)

Attention after printing for the threads:

The two tower sections connect via an M12 thread. In this size the print is usually difficult. I recommend recutting the threads of the hole after printing. Clean out the hole very good afer cutting. No debris should remain and cause damage to the threads of the bottom tower section.

For the first time screwing them together be careful and turn only a quarter or half turn, than back and work you way forward until it fits nicely.

Assembly:

  1. For assembly you need 8 magnets with the size of 3x6 mm. (height x width)
  2. And a little bit of glue to attach the nacelle to the upper tower section.

If you like wind turbines check out also my other designs. :)

For remixing or just using parts, please note that the holes for the magnets in nacelle, spinner and blade are done with the modifier in bambulab. If you export them, the correct hole size will not be exported with the stl file!

Please note:

The nacelle, blade and hub is basically taken from this model and scaled to fit the proportion of a wind turbine. But this model has a serious flaw in it. The blades are not correct. The turbine would spin counterclockwise. There is no known Vestas turbine to me that spins counterclockwise. I fixed it by mirroring them at the blade root plane. :)

Changelog:

#1, 03. April 2025:

Added the magnetic connecting tower as an alternative to the threaded one.
