Description

This is the third expansion module for my DAS case. It’s designed to sit on top of the 3D-printed DAS enclosure and accommodate an ITX motherboard, an SFX power supply, and a PCI card, all cooled by two 120mm fans. The module supports CPU coolers up to 40mm in height and has space for a 2.5" SSD next to the CPU.
The ITX slot is specifically prepared to fit an HP P822 card, which is taller than standard PCI specifications.

Just like the original DAS case, this expansion module attaches via magnets, ensuring a secure yet easily removable setup. An opening in the bottom allows you to route and hide cables, maintaining a clean, minimalist look.

Additional parts that you need

22x M3×5×4.2 inserts

4x M3×10mm (for SSD mounting)
4x M3×6mm (for motherboard)
6x M3×10mm (top side)
4x M3×6mm (top/bottom)
8x M3 screws (fan width + 10mm length)
17x Magnets (8×3mm)

On plate #5, there is a custom front panel you can personalize by playing with the infill settings. Just set your top and bottom layers to 0 and then use any infill type and percentage you like to create a custom dust filter.

The instalation is really simple and intuitive.

  • Installation
  • Installation is straightforward and intuitive. For a complete overview, watch my video (in Spanish, but you can turn on subtitles and auto-translate). The video demonstrates the SFX case.

  • Inserts (Total of 22 Inserts)
    • 4 inserts go into the base (main body) for the ITX motherboard.
4 inserts go into the front section (see the top part for exact placement).
14 inserts go into the top part.
  • Mounting the SFX PSU
    • Remove the 4 screws holding the SFX PSU fan.
Place the SFX PSU on the top and reattach these 4 screws to distribute the PSU’s weight across the top.
Then, secure the PSU with 2 additional screws (you’ll see the indentations).
  • Final Assembly
    • Install the motherboard and any additional components

Align and place the top module over the main body, making sure to screw in the PSU as needed.

Step by step instructions with photos are attached as a zip.
