This is my take on the Pocket Ratchet Driver originally designed by Kwiatens. That driver is one of my favorite prints, and using it inspired me to make some upgrades to the functionality and user experience.
UPDATE: If you want something smaller and simpler, check out my Micro EDC Driver.
The highlights are:
Integrated bit storage - conveniently stash up to six ¼" hex bits inside the handle.
Includes ¼", 3/8", and ½" socket drivers in addition to ¼" and 4mm hex heads
Ergonomic shape with grippy ridges
More compact mechanism to lock the lid in place - still just as secure and requires no hardware
Icons for rotation direction - I got tired of guessing wrong 😂
Hard stops on the lever swing angle for a more sturdy feel
Power tool-inspired aesthetics
Hardware:
None required!
Fits the same optional 6x3mm and 4x2mm round magnets as the original. I definitely prefer to use the magnets. Glue them into the ¼" and 4mm hex heads with super glue.
Printing Notes:
Everything works well printed in PLA.
For better strength and longevity I prefer PETG or ABS/ASA, at least for the moving parts.
I had fun matching a few other tools I own. Show me what color combos you come up with!
