Description

These brackets allow for hanging 3 IKEA Skadises (Skadii??) on an interior door. I've used the 30" x 20" Skadis, but should work for skinnier ones if you want. I have only tested this on my particular door, but I would imagine it works on yours as well.

These brackets interface with the original Skadis mounting hardware, so make sure you have it.

I printed in PLA and everything has held up fine so far.

I am not responsible for any damage to your door. So far, I have noticed scuffing on my (very cheaply painted landlord special) door, which should be easy to touch up when I move out. Also, try to hang any heavier items on the side towards the hinges to avoid undue torque on the hinges

Hardware Needed:

Zip ties, 18", 120 lb

You can skimp out on lesser zip ties if you want, but the strong ones help keep it snug against the door.

(Optional) Double sided tape

Even with the zip ties, there is still some play when you open/close the door, which results in banging. Double sided tape between the mounting hardware and the door can eliminate this, but will probably damage the paint on the door. I plan to touch up the paint on mine when I leave this apartment, so whatever. Just be sure the tape is not actually holding any weigh; it should just stop the pegboards from swinging in and out.

Instructions:

  1. Skadis_door_hanger (x2) goes over the top of the door, and the top Skadis hangs on it using the included Skadis mounting bracket.

        2. Next, attach Skadis_door_hanger_extender (x2) to the next Skadis by hooking them onto the mounting hardware.

        3. Then, lift the Skadis + Skadis_door_hanger_extender (x2) up to the bottom of the first skadis, and mount using the IKEA screw and foot as shown below.

        4. Repeat steps 2-3 for another Skadis.

        5. Attach the bottom Skadis screw/feet using Skadis_door_hanger_spacer as a washer, as shown below.

        6. Slide Skadis_door_hanger_bottom (x2) under the door and align with the Skadis holes as shown below. Then, use zip ties to attach to Skadis. I cinched these zip ties down as hard as I could with pliers, and everything held up. This helps keep everything tight to the door.

        7. Finally, if desired, use double sided tape as needed to reduce any additional play.

        8. Enjoy!
