Description

This is an involved print, containing multiple parts printed in different filaments.

To build this out in the same way as I have, you will need the following.

Here is a list of parts. They include affiliate links that point to the parts on Amazon.

First, print the main housing. I used a pla silk filament but use what you will. Second is to print the crystals. I used a clear petg filament for its glowiness. Insert the m3 inserts into the main panel in the provided holes

Insert the LEDs into the holes slotted in the main body and adhere them in with hot glue. Cleanup any spillover hot glue with an x-acto knife so that the bodies will meet flush. Pull 4 LED’s in through the top body portion and thread through to the main body.

Trim the wires down to eliminate bulk. Strip the wires back and solder them together by color groups. In the end, use should have 15 green strand bundles and 15 black strand bundles.

Solder an additional wire out of the bundles and heat shrink wiring bundles together with the additional wire coming out of the shrink.

Attach each of these ends to a separate 2 port wago connector. This completes the wiring of the main and top bodies. Use m6000 craft glue to attach the top and main bodies together.

For the front panel, take your m4056/57 connector and wire the battery terminals to the lithium ion battery and the negative terminal to the black wago connector of LED wires.

The red connector soldered and heat shrunk to one end of the power switch and the other end of the power switch connected to the green wago connector of LED wires.

Insert a power supply into the front port of the front panel usb port and then slide the m4056/57 in from the back. When they are connected, hot glue the m4056/57 chip I place. This makes sure that the ports are connected and in line.

Attach the power switch to the front panel and wire manage the internals and put the front panel and the main panels together. Click the power switch and verify that the torch lights up. If so, take the m3 hex bolts to secure the panels together.

Take the 9 small crystals and slide them down the holes down the side over the edge LEDS to cover them. Then put the large crystal over 4 LEDS at the top and secure it down.

This completes the lantern. Print the lantern base and put the lantern on top of the base.
