Description
There are several tag solutions out there, but we wanted to create our own solution which is optimized for our usecase.
empowering an easy and fast workflow for label creation | flexible relabeling to support reorganizing in an organic way | targeting multiple surfaces to enable the power of labeling |
To achieve this, we have created the ability to quickly and easily design labels digitally and print them using our 3D printer. Additionally, we can easily decide whether to attach the labels using magnets or adhesive strips.
In case the intended surface is not magnetic, but we still want to fix the labels magnetically, we can attach magnets with our magnet holder on the other side of the intended surface. This ensures that the labels can be quickly and easily repositioned when we reorganize.

To customize your 3D Tag in your browser, you simply click on the “Customize” button below the print profiles to access the customize user interface. To make this possible we created a custom OpenSCAD script and uploaded it to this model.
After accessing the customize user interface, you can use the provided parameters to customize your personal 3D Tag to your needs. When you are done customizing, you can download your personal 3D Tag and open it in Bambu Studio, to slice and print it.
Recommendations for using the models customize function:
To customize your 3D Tag, simply select and download the prepared print profile “Customizable 3D Tag Tamplates” and open the downloaded 3mf-file in Bambu Studio.
You can as well add icons to your 3D Tag with Bambu Studio. Just import a blank 3D Tag stl-file and a stl-file representing an icon into Bambu Studio. Then select both stl-files and perfom a right click to open a context menu. Inside the context menu you have the option to “merge” both models.
After merging you can simply adjust the icon in orientation, height and size. Therefore select the icon and hit the [ M ] key on your keyboard or manually select “Move” above the preview area.
Recommended is a height of 1 mm for icons on 3D Tags.
We recommend to use magnets with 10mm diameter and 3mm height (D10x3). When you insert the magnets it might be an option to superglue them, to prevent them of coming out when you replace your 3D-Tag.
As well we recommend, to always use the same magnet orientation for all of your 3D Tags because you should ensure that all magnets inside your 3D Tags match all of your Magnet Holder magnet direction (be aware of the magnet field direction).
The magnet holder is designed like a flower, so it is easy to tape them using ahesive stips or if you want a permanent solution you can as well superglue them.
If you are more talented than we are, you can paint your 3D Tag with custom icons, logos and other drawings. Acrylic paint works excellent.
