Description
This is my creation of the lyre harp, which was designed to be playable in a fun way. It is tunable, with a diatonic octave, and uses real harp strings. I designed it to look visually as a harp but function as a lyre. My wife, being a professional harpist, inspired me in this project and helped me by tuning and demonstrating its functionality. I used Bambu Wood PLA for the printing of the lyre and used Bambu Sparkle PLA for the designs that are seen. Lyre pins, eyelets, and tuning key were purchased on amazon https://www.amazon.com/s?k=lyre+pins&i=mi&crid=2GF4003WDK9GF&sprefix=lyre+pins%2Cmi%2C149&ref=nb_sb_noss_2. The harp strings are nylon strings, that were given to me by my wife, which she purchased at any harp center, but other brands may be found on Amazon. I used 4 walls in the printing of this project, which, due to its size, allowed the tuning pins to hold and not slip, and the 20% infill worked well with this design. It used 311g of material and took 1 day to print. I had fun in developing this project and was pleased to see it work. I hope you enjoy it as well.
