Retrowave Future City Bookmark and Coaster

Beautiful Retrowave bookmark and coaster for any fan of the era that dreamed of what the future was to be. Just add a tassel to the bookmark and you're all set! If you do not want the hole for the tassel, simply delete the negative cylinder in the slicer. To better protect the coaster, use a 2 part epoxy resin. See my circuit board coaster file for good examples and of what kind to use. 

 

AMS not required! See below for manual color change options. 

 

There are 2 print profiles. One profile is for a .2 nozzle (the profile pic is .2) and one is for .4 nozzle. The .4 is relatively quick with a picture in the slider. Note: The .2 looks better with much higher detail, but the bookmark takes around 4.8 hours, and the coaster around 6.8 hours and may not be worth your while, so don't bother slicing if you do not want to take that much time. There are 2 plates per profile, each with one bookmark, and one coaster. DO NOT print both at the same time as the layer change colors are different for both and will mess up the one you drag over!!!

 

This print SIMPLY uses 5 color changes and a pause has been added to change to the 5th color. See attached pic for how to select a 5th color change and to swap during pause on 4th color. If you want to risk not forgetting to change color, delete the pause after slicing by clicking on the pause delete on that layer, and swap color after black is done. 

 

Note: This print uses the same colors as Lithophane. If you have the kit, you have the correct colors for best look IMO. 

 

Scale up or down on X/Y axis only. DO NOT adjust Z height!

 

If you get “floating regions” warning, that can safely be ignored and does not require supports.

 

Filaments Used:
    PLA Bambu Black Transmission Distance: 0.3
    PLA Bambu Magenta Transmission Distance: 8
    PLA Bambu Basic Yellow Transmission Distance: 6
    PLA Bambu White Transmission Distance: 5
    PLA Bambu Cyan Transmission Distance: 8
This print uses 5 unique filaments

 

Swap Instructions: .4 Bookmark Manual Color Change
    Start with Black
    At layer #8 (0.72mm) swap to Magenta
    At layer #16 (1.36mm) swap to Yellow
    At layer #20 (1.68mm) swap to White
    At layer #24 (2.00mm) swap to Cyan for the rest.

 

Swap Instructions: .4 Coaster Manual Color Change
    Start with Black
    At layer #12 (1.04mm) swap to Magenta
    At layer #22 (1.84mm) swap to Yellow
    At layer #25 (2.08mm) swap to White
    At layer #33 (2.72mm) swap to Cyan for the rest.

 

Swap Instructions: .2 Bookmark Manual Color Change
    Start with Black
    At layer #16 (0.72mm) swap to Magenta
    At layer #31 (1.32mm) swap to Yellow
    At layer #38 (1.60mm) swap to White
    At layer #48 (2.00mm) swap to Cyan for the rest.

 

Swap Instructions: .2 Coaster Manual Color Change
    Start with Black
    At layer #25 (1.08mm) swap to Magenta
    At layer #46 (1.92mm) swap to Yellow
    At layer #55 (2.28mm) swap to White
    At layer #72 (2.96mm) swap to Cyan for the rest.
