Description
I am never satisfied with other parts available online so I made my own.
This one is not intended to reduce weight, only to help to evacuate heat inside the toolhead. It is for P1S because the internal fixation is removed but I can very well add it back if you request it for your X1C.
I tried to keep the Bambulab lateral opening style extended to the whole height of the side faces and also added their logo. Stiffeners are added on internal of side faces to create similar stiffness compared to orignal toolhead cover. As there is a very thin area on the front left side because of the fan shell I added a rack shape all along the height for strength. For homogeneous visual I did the same on the other front side and finally I find it gives a nice mechanical looking to the part, while not too much overloaded.
Do not print it with PLA or it will deform during the next print unless you keep open the front door and remove the top glass. Use PETG or other better thermal resistant material. I strongly recommend to dry your PETG before the print, >12h at 60°C.
Use sharp tools to gently remove the supports in tiny areas.
Print it at 0.2mm for a quick and nice looking print
Print it at 0.12mm of layer height to maximise quality.
0.08 is also nice but it produces some imperfections so 0.12 is better.
Update 11/03/2025 : modified position of top magnet for better fit between parts
Update 12/03/2025 : Added small opening on the magnet housing for easier removal without breaking the part
