This tool helps piano learners recognize keys and transpose music to a specific key using a spinning wheel mechanism.
Half of the wheel can be demarcated for major keys and the other half for minor keys with a black marker, if required.
Additional parts required:
- 2x M3x10 screws for improved stability when attaching the stand to the base
- Some form of clicker glued onto the 'quarter rest'. I folded some electrical tape, but any small piece of cardboard, milk carton plastic, felt, etc will work as well.
- A 608 Bearing. Recommend to use those made for fidget spinners. There are options to 3D print the bearing, although do expect more friction. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1134161-print-in-place-608-bearing#profileId-1135022
Assembly:
- Fit 608 Bearing into Wheel Plate. Expect a tight fit, to reduce wobble, and the plate coming off.
- Fit Stand onto Base. Secure with 2x M3x10 screws.
- Attach Wheel Plate onto Stand, ensuring it rotates smoothly.
- Fit Rest onto Stand. (Don't glue yet!)
- Glue clicker onto the Rest.
- Test to see if 'spinning and clicking’ is as desired.
- Glue Rest onto Stand once desired 'spin and click' is achieved.
