Description
If you're using steel rope like I am, just crimp a lug or ferrule onto the end and slot it in before pushing the spike into the ground near the climber (in my case, beans). You can also use some string or twine with a bulky knot at the end (you'll be tying four granny knots on top of each other, won't you?).
I like to give the spike a half twist once it's in, as that keeps it in place a bit more securely.
