Description
No longer loose your time searching for the right socket on your bench : just tag them!
This is an easy solution I use to identify my hexagonal sockets : just push the label inside them with your finger or with a screwdriver by pushing on the edges.
The tag will stay in place thanks to its calibrated dimension which has a slight oversize. I have them since more than a year and they does not move at all.
(picture below show the “metric” version" in 6-point “hexagonal” version)
This model is for Imperial Inch Hexagonal sockets (6 points) and Bi-Hexagonal sockets (12 points). (You can use the 6 points model on 12 points sockets obviously)
There is another model for metric dimensions here : https://makerworld.com/en/models/1196279-hexagonal-socket-identification-tag-label#profileId-1208962
The sizes available are as follow :
Printing Notes :
PETG is the recommended material for it (it remains flexible for a long time), but I also had some success with PLA during my tests.
Small sizes (from 5/32 to 3/8 at least) will benefit from a small 0.2 nozzle (I would say it is mandatory below 1/4)
Result comparison bellow (sorry I did not took pictures of imperial tags), for reference the 11/32 socket is similar to the 5.5 socket shown here
