Description

Introduction

Use this map to track all the US National Parks you’ve visited.  This map has a hole for each of the 63 National Parks and pegs that you can insert to keep track of your visits.

You can use different shapes or colors to indicate which parks you’ve been to, which you want to visit next, or which different members of a family have visited.  A set of round pegs and a set of several unique pegs are included.  It may be difficult to fit some of the unique pegs close together for parks that are close together on the map.

The connection pieces of the frame can be customized to say whatever you like.  I used “Explore and Enjoy,” but you can add your name or leave the bottom section blank.  You can also customize the pegs by adding your own shape.

Printing and Assembly

This print consists of multiple parts that must be glued together.  This allows for making a picture that exceeds the size of your print bed and for printing a colorful map without the use of an AMS.  The fully assembled map measures 14.75” x 19.75” (37.5cm x 50.2cm).  Most parts are a single color, and the few that require multiple colors to capture small details allow for pausing between layers to swap filament.

I found it easiest to assemble this print by putting a large piece of cardboard behind the map and gluing the pieces together.  Once the map is together, add the frame.  (I plan to make a v2 where the cardboard is not needed.)

The pegs are a little loose by default.  You may wish to make them wider.  But, I found I had trouble getting them back out if I made them any thicker.

Inspiration

I've long wanted to visit all the National Parks, though I've only seen 6 so far.  Arches is my favorite!

My family visited a few of the National Parks this summer because one of our kids was in fourth grade, and US fourth graders can visit the parks for free.

This map is based on National Park Service Unified Regions Map - NPS-wide.
