Self-Sheathing Folding Swords with Integrated Locking

New Version Released

The current legacy design has multiple issues, all of which are completely resolved in the new version. Access the improved version via the link below.
Every component has been redesigned and rigorously tested, featuring a completely redesigned locking mechanism with enhanced reliability. Comprehensive tolerance validation ensures dimensional precision.

===================================

Update 1: Added 3MF files for non-sharp safety blades.
Update 2: Added holster 3MF files (support-free printing, adhesive optional, MOLLE-compatible).

Update 3: Optimized dimensional tolerances to mitigate blade playOptimized dimensional tolerances to mitigate blade play

A pair of collapsible short swords designed with mutual-sheath geometry, allowing blade-to-handle nesting when folded. This space-optimized system enables:

150% blade-to-handle ratio (industry standard: 85%)

Zero additional sheath components through symbiotic blade alignment

The locking component is designed to be inserted deep into the hilt. To reduce assembly difficulty and ensure compatibility across different filaments/printers, the part has intentionally generous tolerances.

If the fit is too loose:

Option 1: Use adhesive for a permanent fix.

Option 2: Adjust the insertion depth to fine-tune the blade retention.

Note: Deeper insertion = tighter lock (test incrementally).

Minimal support required

Hardware-Free Assembly:

Optional glue reinforcement for permanent builds

Assembly Steps:

Secure the blade with a pin.
Insert the locking mechanism component for the blade.
Done
