Thanks for checking out my model!
This model is a working lute for D&D enthusiasts! The lute has the following features:
- Working Dice Box to hold your D&D stuff!
- “Hidden” Dice Dagger in the neck of the lute for extra fun cosplay/dice storage!
- The neck can be removed and repositioned to create a working dice tower!
- It plays “real” music! (music quality is debatable)
- It even holds your Bardic Inspiration Guitar Picks (model here)
This was designed by me in fusion 360 and printed on my Bambu Labs P1S. Feedback is always appreciated!
Assembly Instructions
- (Optional) the Top Brim can be used as a stencil for tracing a felt bad for the base of the dice box to reduce noise.
- The “Top” of the box is in two pieces, these two pieces should be glued togther.
- The “Strummer” should be slid into the top once it's assembled. It will be a tight fit. You can either use the “Solid” strummer or the “musical” strummer. (Musical strummer instructions below)
- The “Neck” is in two pieces. these two pieces should be glued together.
- The “Dagger” is in two pieces. These two pieces should be glued together.
- Once the glue is dry, use the dovetail to slide the neck into the bottom to create the dice tower or lute “mode”. The dagger should slide into the hole at the top of the neck and fit snugly.
Strummer Instructions (Optional)
If you choose to use a musical strummer, this uses basic “loom” type rubber bands (the kind kids make friendship bracelets out of). The way I assemble this is by wrapping a rubber band around one of the pins (there is a slot near the top of the pin, inserting it into the strummer, and turning 90 degrees to lock it in. Then, place a second pin on the rubber band and twist 5-7 times before inserting in the opposite side of the strummer. Repeat 5x.
Happy Barding!
