After creating 10 prehistoric (and a few non-historic) fossils for my boy to find in the woods, I decided to change things up a bit. 

Introducing #1 in my Pokemon Fossil Hunting Series. 

If you are new here, I got a 3d printer specifically to do fun things with my 4 year old son, and a few weeks ago I got the idea to print some “fossils” to bury in the woods for us to dig up together. It has been a HUGE hit and it has become the first thing that he asks if we could do every day.  (See the rest HERE)

ANYWAY - while we were watching Pokemon a couple of days ago I thought to myself… “Ok, dad. The boy loves fossil hunting… The boy loves Pokemon… Let's combine the two.” 

So here is the first in that series. Full disclosure - he hasn't “found” this one yet as it just came off the print bed - but I will update in the next few days with his thoughts. 

For now - I wanted to share a photo of him with all of his fossil treasures that he has found so far. Meet “O”
 

Quick question: I have had several of you guys reach out asking about a commercial membership. It never even occurred to me that anyone would want to sell these. If there is enough interest I will create a Patreon page for access to commercial rights and probably a few extras as well. What do you think? Are there any fossil entrepreneurs out there? 

About the model: I printed this one pretty big, but it turned out amazingly well. I oriented him straight up and down to minimize layer lines and used organic tree supports. Filament used is Bambu PLA Matte Terracotta. Any other questions just ask!
