Oblivion House

March 22, 2025
Description
Directly from the movie "Oblivion" (2013) with Tom Cruise, the house located 1000 meters high on the tower hosts Jack Harper, Tech 49 identifier.
This fantastic reproduction is made in great detail and, despite its impressive size, it allows you to print it even with the A1 Mini!
You will only need 2 or 3 colors: black and white are mandatory and, if you have a transparent filament, you will be able to get the most out of the print.
In fact, all the windows and the pool should be made in transparent, but if you really don't have it or don't want to buy it, you can use the black one and still have a good final effect.
All the printed pieces fit together almost perfectly, but it also depends a lot on the printing tolerance of your printer: we are still talking about tenths of a millimeter!
The whole assembly is assembled by fitting the pieces into each other, but if you want a firmer and more solid structure, a few drops of loctite in the various key points will make everything more stable.
To give an even more realistic effect, you can opt to place some cotton balls on the support base to simulate clouds.
The assembly is extremely basic and within the reach of even a child.
I worked above all to try to make the print as faithful as possible to the original but also taking into account the cost and time of printing.
In fact, despite the size of the set, the cost of the material used is also quite low: 255gr and about 10h total!!!!!!
UPDATE 24/03/25
I modified the files and the print profile for the two sections of the house because in some cases there could be warping problems ruining the final aesthetics.
I added supports to improve adhesion, supports that must be removed at the end of printing.
Now the warping is no longer present.
UPDATE 27/03/25
Due to many requests, I have made a correct scale Bubbleship to add to this model.

UPDATE 31/03/25
Modified the main body of the house project for a different print, different assembly and better print yield.
Modified the platform with aesthetic embellishments.
It's free for you, but it's important for me!
I'll can continue to make your next free project!
So, let's go!!!
First insert the internal support into the base.
Insert the "ladder down" into the "base below" with a drop of glue.
Insert the newly assembled part into the Main Base.
Insert the 4 "House Blocks" into the appropriate slots with a drop of glue.
Insert the 4 "house stops" into the appropriate slots.
No glue needed.
Join the two halves of the house: glue should not be necessary, but if necessary, put it in the points furthest from the pins.
Place the left porthole, the left "secondary" by inserting them into the left half of the house.
Then insert the left window by sliding it through the recesses of the floor and ceiling.
Be careful to have the smoothest part of the glass facing outwards to ensure maximum aesthetics.
You can fix the large window with a drop of glue.
Repeat all for the right side of the house.
Glue the two types of supports together (right and left parts and insert them into the slots of the house.
Use glue to fix everything well.
Now insert the front window.
It should fit perfectly into the two slots of the floor and ceiling, but if it doesn't, use a drop of glue.
Remember to keep the best part towards the outside.
Insert the glass into the tower cabin.
Insert the cabin into its housing using two drops of glue at the points where it fits into the main body.
From under the house, insert the ladder to the tower.
Rotate the ladder until the top aligns with the door to the tower cabin.
Now place the house on the base, using two drops of glue, taking care to insert it into the 4 appropriate slots.
Insert the pool using two drops of glue on the edges to secure it.
Be careful to position the wider edge part towards the house, leaving the thin one towards the outside.
Lastly, insert the landing platform from above and push it towards the house to secure it.
Now enjoy the model!
Thanks!
