Yaesu Ft-710 Heavy Duty Side Rails
If you are like me and want to do everything possible to help protect your ham radio investment without any compromise in the usage then this is for you!!
I was looking for a durable set of side rails that would be able to be printed on my A1 Mini and also allow me to build a go-box for the FT710 in a Harbor Freight Apache 4800 Hard Case. I could not find anything that I liked that also met this criteria. So, I opened up FreeCad and started creating this project. I aimed to offer as much protection as possible while making sure that all features including the SD card was still available and nothing on the FT710 itself would need to be changed altered or removed. I thought that others may appreciate this model so I made different variants of the Front and Back halves. Just pick your favorite front and back. Hopefully there is enough choices to suit your needs and not so many as to make it confusing. You will need hardware to use these. See Instructions below.

Note: I have included a pre-fused, single-piece version of the model in the Raw Model Files section for users with large-format printers. Please note there is no official print profile for the single-piece version as it exceeds my local build volume, but the geometry is identical to the verified multi-part profile. If you would like other 1 piece files with different configurations please let me know.
Hardware Needed:
(Maker's Supply Links below)
4x M3-16 bolts
4x M3 Lock Nuts (Nylon Lock Nuts Recommended)
4x M4-12 bolts
Instructions:
Once you have printed 2 Front and 2 Backs its time to attach the fronts to the backs. for this you will need the M3-16 bolts and nylon lock nuts. Insert the M3 bolts through the holes that connect the two halves and tighten them using the nylon lock nuts. The Rails were designed so that if you use the recommended size bolts and nut there should be very little bolt sticking out of the nut.
