Female garden hose fitting with hose Barb adaptor

This model is a complete set of Barb adaptors (6 imperial sizes included) to connect a garden hose thread to a flexible pipe. 

 

These fittings are most commonly used to connect flexible poly pipes on dehumidifier drains or a fitting where the pipe needs to be easy to unscrew if needed. Not for pressurized applications. Due to nature of printed faces, a standard hose washer must be used inside the female threads of the adaptor, but the adaptor may not be liquid tight due to the printing lines.  Do not apply a “side load” or “bend” the barb  portion of the fitting, you will break the part.

 

The following (6x) nominal sizes are included / one size per plate : 

• 1/4" Barb to FHT
• 3/8" Barb to FHT
• 1/2" Barb to FHT
• 5/8" Barb to FHT
• 3/4" Barb to FHT
• 1" Barb to FHT

 

The FHT is "Female Hose Tread" (nominal size garden hose  ¾"). Your hose must be male. Threads will not fit a NPT ¾".

 

[ Printing ]  Print may seem upside down, but this is intentional.  This printing orientation is intented to create the smoothest surface inside the hose washer face, explaning why the print seems “upside down” (barb connector towards the bottom the plate).   You may flip the part upside down for printing, but the ugly face will be inside where the washer will sit.

 

Supports are required and a brim will be added my Bambu Studio for the smaller barb fittings. Printing support artefacts will be visible on the outside face of the screw. 

 

Seam position is set to “Random”, the intention with this setting is to avoid having a “continious aligned seam line" that may cause a leak path on the barb connector. if its not critical for you, you can change it to “aligned”, it will also print perfectly fine.

 

Choose the material according to your application, I used PETG.
