HSW EZ-Lock spool Drawers

Don’t throw away your old BambuLab cardboard filament spools. Make something useful out of them! These drawers are perfect for storing small items. 
 

I have long wanted to make some multi-drawers for my HSW, and these spools compare just the perfect size. 
Because the cardboard spools make up most of the outer shell, they are actually very useful and save a lot of filament and printing time. And they look nice too, I think.

It is a simple design, but because of its simplicity it is super easy to print and install. 

1. Just print the spool holder, remove the support ring and insert/twist it into your HSW. 
2. Push the cardboard spool firmly into the spool holder. The holder is designed to squeeze onto the spool and hold it tightly.
3. Print the drawer version you like and insert it into the spool. The drawers are designed with a slight chamfer to tighten into the spools and should stay snugly in place by friction alone.

There are full size drawers and drawers with a divider. 
I like the hexagon pattern on the drawer face. I also added variants with a smooth drawer face so you can add your own text in the slicer if you like.
 

If you want colored text on the faces, you can even print the drawers with their face down on the build plate. The back will be printed with large overhangs. I have tested this and it works quite well, but does not look as nice on the inside as horizontally printed drawers.

 

I know I will be adding more and more of these to my HSW as soon as I finish some more spools of filament.
