Catan Ultimate Collection (3D Printable)
This is the Ultimate 3D-printable Collection for the board game Catan, including all expansions for up to 6 players:
- Base Game incl. 5-6 Players
- Seafarers Expansion incl. 5-6 Players
- Cities & Knights Expansion incl. 5-6 Players
- Explorers & Pirates Expansion incl. 5-6 Players
- Traders & Barbarians Expansion incl. 5-6 Players
Important Note: Printing this collection takes considerable time. It took me approximately 3 months using a Bambu Lab X1C.
Highlights:
- All parts compatible with the Dakanzla 2.0 version with magnetic fields.
- Specifically designed for multicolor printing, with carefully selected colors.
- All components localized into German wherever possible.
- Many components already existed and were integrated accordingly.
- Additional extensive modifications include:
- Detailed multicolor enhancements for originally single-color parts.
- Complete new designs, especially for Explorers & Pirates and Traders & Barbarians expansions, previously unavailable in version 2.0.
- Conversion of parts from version 1.0 to 2.0.
- Reengineering parts for easier printing and improved gameplay.

Practical Packing Lists and Color Schemes:
Google Spreadsheet with detailed packing lists and colors
Required Materials:
- Many different filament colors (most colors require only one spool, except blue for water tiles). Refer to my Colors Page in the google spreadsheet for details.
- Approximately 1000 cylindrical, diametrical magnets (3x6mm) EU-Shop
- High-quality glue (I recommend Pattex glue)
- All original Catan games including expansions (dice, resource cards, event cards, etc., are used from these).
- Plenty of printing time and motivation!
Important Notes Before Printing:
- Use provided PDFs or images for exact color references.
- I used two AMS units, so some parts require up to 8 colors. But i have added 4-color versions for all parts except the building cost cards. They can be found in the splitted print profiles.
- The “All Parts” 3MF file contains each component, but not in the necessary quantities due to the impractical number of build plates required. Please refer to the packing lists PDF for exact quantities.
- Components are arranged thematically in the “All Parts” profile. For actual printing, duplicate identical parts on a single plate to optimize print time (e.g., all player pieces for all expansions simultaneously).
- A few printing profiles are included in the “All Parts" 3MF file; minimal settings were adjusted mainly for building cost cards and smaller text elements.
- How to Print: There are two possible approaches:
- Option 1:
Use the provided “All parts” profile containing a single copy of each component.
Duplicate and arrange the components yourself according to the Excel packing lists. This method allows you maximum flexibility. - Option 2:
Print each provided build-plate profile individually, which already contains all required duplicates of each component. For parts needing more than 4 colors, simplified versions limited to 4 colors are provided to accommodate users with only one AMS unit.
Important Exception:
Building cost cards cannot be practically printed with only 4 colors. In this case, it’s recommended to use the original cards from the game.
Required Base Landscapes (for expansions up to 6 Players):
- Mountains (Ore): 10x
- Forest (Wood): 8x
- Pasture (Wool): 9x
- Fields (Grain): 7x
- Hills (Brick): 7x
- Gold River: 8x
- Desert: 5x
- Water: 74 (including 11 harbor tiles)
Key Changes & Improvements Compared to Dakanzla 2.0:
Base Game:
- New German building cost cards including Seafarer ships.
- chosen another version for the settlement, since the original one was more difficult to distinguish from the city
- Used another version for the harbours, where the building is removed and its more obvious which type of harbour it is. Also colored it accordingly.
Seafarers:
- If I would print the collection again, I would use tiles from the Explorers & Pirates expansion instead of the "Undiscovered Land" parts of the seafarers espansion.
Cities & Knights:
- New German building cost cards created.
- City upgrade fields translated into German as far as possible.
Explorers & Pirates:
- Enhanced readability of number counters.
- Created distinct green and orange number tokens featuring the Explorers logo (telescope) for clear distinction.
- Redesigned player markers to be stackable, allowing use for both 4 and 6 players.
- Spice field coins redesigned to match the original game.
- Some tiles were converted from Danzka V1.
- Newly developed magnet-free "Undiscovered Land" tiles. When “discovered” during the game you can easily remove them and replace them with the real tile
- Number tokens specifically marked with Explorers logo.
- New building cost cards created; text on the back was laser-engraved due to small size.
Traders & Barbarians:
- Several tiles differ between the 4- and 6-player versions and must be printed accordingly:
- Castle, Marble Quarry, and Glassworks available with either 3 or 6 roads.
- Newly designed continuous river tiles.
- Remixed fish tiles simplified by placing numbered fishing boats directly onto sea tiles, distinguished by Traders & Barbarians logo on tokens.
- Several tiles converted from Danzka V1.
- New overview cards for the Fishermen scenario; text created with laser engraving due to size constraints.
